About AISJ’s Strategic Policies
On January 23, 2012 the AISJ Board of Directors approved a complete revision of its previous Policy Manual, condensing the most significant strategic aspects of the previous policies into a fine-tuned document entitled “Strategic Policies”. The idea behind the shift was to house all the more procedural aspects of the manual into Handbooks, which would be reviewed and updated more frequently, and keep significant and strategic policy matters that largely influence the direction of the school in the shorter document.
The attached document is the result of this exercise.
The strategic policies are reviewed annually by the Governance Committee and any changes require a first read by the full Board, a second read after discussion and, if necessary, revisions, and then a period for public comment (publication of proposed changes on the school website with two weeks for community comments). Again, after any additional changes, the draft revisions to the policy will be voted upon at a meeting of the full board.
