| Activities and Sports |
Students in Grade 1 to Grade 5 have the opportunity to stay after school and participate in the following programs. After school activities (ASA) are conducted on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. Students may ride the bus home on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 16:30, Wednesday at 15:00, Thursday at 17:00 or be picked up by private transportation. To participate in any of these activities, simply return the attached student registration form to the elementary office by Thursday, August 16th. Classes are limited in size and it is a first come first served basis.
IMPORTANT – In order to allow all of our students to have an opportunity to participate in an ASA, we may only have room for your son/daughter to do one MONDAY/TUESDAY activity. If your child wishes to do an activity on both Monday and Tuesday please have them write “1st choice” and “2nd choice” by their respective activity choices. We will do our best to allow them to participate in both activities if there is room.
You will be notified by phone if your son/daughter does not get in an activity they signed up for.
GENERAL PROGRAM GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES
- Commitment to Participate
Every student registered to participate in any activity is expected to attend all meetings of the activity. This simple statement is the most important responsibility of any participation. The sponsor/s of the activity expect all participants in their program to attend with enthusiasm. Students are not allowed to stay after school unless they are involved in a supervised activity. If there is some reason that the student can’t attend the activity they must bring in a note from their parent/s and give it to the Elementary office. If a student doesn’t have a parent note they will be required to attend the activity.
- Program Cancellation
Our philosophy is to never cancel the After School Activity. Even if the weather is inclement, the various classes will employ alternative indoor activities for the students on these days. The activity sponsors are prepared for such a situation.
