THIMUN 2010
“Good Governance”
AISJ represents Sri Lanka at THIMUN 2010
12 students from AISJ attended the grand daddy of all MUN conferences, The Hague International Model United Nations conference in the Netherlands, last week. With nearly 4000 students from schools around the globe, this is the largest MUN conference in the world.
Once again, our students made a great impression on other delegations and directors with their thorough preparation and their knowledge of the issues. Andrew Macaulay, a junior but a veteran to THIMUN, was selected as a chair for the Human Rights Committee. Michael Haskell and Victoria Williams, seniors, were also veterans of THIMUN and shared their expertise with the students new to the THIMUN conference.
THIMUN is an intense conference so only experienced MUN students are taken. Fellow seniors Sam Gips, Mathew Vaidyan, Ian Santulli, Shreya Kalra and Sam Selsky accompanied Michael and Victoria. While juniors Julia Pimentel, Trish de Jager, Theji Jayaratne, and Catherine Scholtes rounded out the delegation.
Mr. Musgrove and Mr. Kissack chaperoned the delegation and were extremely impressed by the way the students performed and conducted themselves in and out of the conference.
Well done AISJ THIMUN delegation. |
