The National Honor Society under the sponsorship and supervision of the National Association of Secondary Schools endeavors to appropriately acknowledge students who demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service. Hence membership to the National Honor Society is both an honor as well as a commitment to maintain and broaden the qualities displayed by students in achieving excellence in academics, character, leadership and service.
The National Honor Society was founded in 1921, in an endeavor to create an institution that acknowledges and encourages academic achievement while simultaneously developing other characteristics pertinent to individuals in a democratic society. The first chapter at AISJ started in 1998. It has grown into a prestigious institution to be affiliated with.
The members of the National Honor Society at AISJ will commit to one or more service projects for each year. It is imperative and an accepted requirement upon selection of the members that all members will dutifully and purposefully participate in these projects. These projects aim to:
Fulfill a need within the community,
Elicit the support of the administration and the faculty;
