High School

Activities and Sports

At AISJ we are excited to offer our High School students a very diverse and rich activities program.

All high school students are encouraged to be involved in our high school activities program.  High School activities richly add to the excitement, fun, and spirit on campus.  Activities welcome all students and are not just for experienced participants.  We are proud of our tradition of giving students with no previous experience the opportunity of participating in an activity for the very first time.  If students have questions regarding any of our activities they should see the sponsor/coach for more information.

With so many choices of activities to choose from, students can’t do it all so they need to make some choices and really plan out their year in advance.  Some students will need to balance playing on one of AISJ’s athletic teams, being part of a club, and being part of a service learning project.  We want students to have a variety of experiences here at AISJ but we also want them to commit to each activity they are a part of.  If students have more than two un-excused absences from an activity they will not be able to participate in this activity any longer.  Coaches/sponsors will clearly go over expectations so that students are fully aware of their commitment.

Educational research shows a positive correlation between involvement in extracurricular activities and academic performance: students who are involved in school activities have greater academic success in the classroom…and this is true at AISJ.

We hope all students have a fantastic and rewarding experience being involved in AISJ High School Activities.  Throughout the year we will add new activities and these new opportunities will be communicated through the High School Daily Bulletin and through AISJ’s Website.  Our website is the best place to get up to date information and on the site there will be an activities calendar that lists when all activities are taking place.  We are always looking to grow and improve our activities program so if you have any questions, thoughts, or ideas please don’t please don’t hesitate to contact Kris Jettner, AISJ’s K-12 Activities Coordinator.
