The South African Service Summit for Youth (SASSY) is a service conference founded at AISJ in 2014 with the goal of empowering students across South Africa by building a network of over 100 socially engaged students working together on local solutions to national South African issues. The SASSY conference consists of two days of interactive, student-led workshops, symposium panels, and motivational expert speakers as well as an off-campus service day to transform ideas into action. Each year, the AISJ hosted event has a conference theme which drives the focus of the issues that students aim to alleviate.

AISJ students make up the majority of the organizing committee of SASSY and see the conference through from initial planning stages of the event to the organizing of workshops and guest speaker appearances. SASSY is an excellent way for AISJ students to explore their leadership potential and connect with other South African students who are equally as passionate about change.
