TEAM GOALS & OBJECTIVES

We have developed the following goals and objectives for this year:

  1. Change the culture of JoMUN to ensure that it is more about peaceful resolution and collaboration than competition through:  
    1. Effective chair training
    2. Emphasizing this element in the Bootcamp training
    3. Talking to delegates prior to the conference during weekly meetings
    4. Running more mock debates in the lead up to the conference
  2. Improve quality of debate by: 
    1. Improving chair training and oversight
      1. Introducing chair evaluations
      2. Clearly outlining chair responsibilities and consequences for failing to meet them
      3. Creating a booklet for chairs
      4. Requiring chairs to create Facebook groups for all of their delegates and overseeing the use of these forums for sharing of resources
      5. Checking to make sure that chairs are providing detailed feedback to all delegates
    2. Providing better training of teachers who are on the approval panel
  3. Obtain our re-affiliation with THIMUN by: 
    1. Submitting initial information packet
    2. Self-assessing against the standards
    3. Developing and implementing an action plan
    4. Hosting THIMUN visitor
  4. Continue to grow the conference by inviting more local and international and schools to participate:
    1. Advertise conference using social media
    2. Advertise conference through Best Delegate, etc.
    3. Take advantage of local and international contacts
