We also visit FFW monthly to promote wildlife education, to feed, and care for the animals.

Jewelry Creations

We will use bicycle tires, nespresso pods, magazines, newspapers and more. These creations will be donated for sale by a group of women who are also creating up-cycled jewelry. You will help add to their designs and to their stock. You will also help by recycling items that might end up in landfills. Join us for the fun.

Ultimate Frisbee

Self-advocacy through sport: Using the sport of ultimate frisbee students learn more about health, cancer, and how to speak for themselves in a variety of situations.

Loosely based on the Early Recognition Is Critical Speak Up curriculum (for more information about ERIC go to www.earlyrecognitioniscritical.org) this program aims to encourage students to learn a new sport, and to learn to take action to protect themselves and others.

We begin with Ultimate and then learn about early recognition of cancer by discovering some of the symptoms of the illness. As with Ultimate, players must speak up and call their own fouls, students are taught to speak up if they find any cancer symptoms. We also encourage students to learn more about a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as meeting new people and making new friends.

The students who engage in the program also learn leadership skills including public speaking, negotiation, conflict resolution, event planning and execution.
