Our first week of the 2019-20 school year has come to an end! It has been a great week. Your children were happy to be back at school and spent time making new friends and reconnecting with old friends. The teachers did a great job of planning and leading learning experiences that helped to build classroom community and establish routines for productive learning. They also helped the children reacclimate to the school setting by providing frequent movement breaks on the playground.
I had the opportunity to visit many classrooms this week. I was so impressed by the kind and thoughtful behavior of the students at this school. Your children made me, and the new students here in the elementary school, feel so welcomed. This certainly is a caring community!
This morning we had our first elementary school assembly. It was a great opportunity to welcome new students, faculty and parents in our school division.
Meet and Greet conferences are already underway. These conferences are a great opportunity to begin building a relationship with your child's teacher. It is also a chance for you to share information with the teacher that will help him or her better meet your child's unique learning needs. If you have not yet scheduled a conference, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible. The conferences will continue through next week.
A few of our students are arriving at school quite early in the morning. Please know that supervision on the playground begins at 7:10. Please help us keep your children safe by dropping them off at 7:10 or later each morning.
Here are some important upcoming events:
It has been a pleasure to meet so many parents this week. I hope to meet more of you at upcoming school events in the weeks ahead.
