Good morning Pretoria Campus Parents,

Candy Grams

Today will be the last day of our Candy Gram fundraiser to support the Meetse A. Bophelo School in their design of Solar Cookers as a continuation of our Service Learning Project earlier this year.  Candy grams will be sold at the parent drop off area.  We will use the proceeds to purchase materials to assist Meetse in making and using their solar cookers.  Thank you for your support, which has been tremendous so far!

Market Day

Today is Grade 5’s Market Day. This is a wonderful service learning initiative and we wish Grade 5 well in their important work:

Grade 8 Carnival

The third annual 8th grade Cardboard Carnival will take place on Tuesday, June 5. As in year’s past, the 8th graders will create and run carnival style games. This is the 8th graders culminating service learning project. Students from all of our grade levels are encouraged to attend and purchase tickets to play the games. If you win a game you receive a tasty treat. Any student who spends at least R50 on tickets will be guaranteed at least one treat. All proceeds go to charity. Last year the 8th graders voted to use the profits in order to pay school tuition for a political refugee living at Mercy House.  The students are currently discussing the destination for this year’s funds. We shall let you know of their decision. The 8th graders thank you for your support and hope to see all of you at the carnival.
