Press and Tech do a lot more than people think. Some people think that Press and Tech just take photos and run the social media but Press and Tech are the ones keeping everyone informed and connected at JoMUN. Zamangwance Kunene and Sonali Malik are the Press and Tech chairs.
‘We do a full media coverage of the conference and we run various platforms via social media. We do photography, videography and write plenty of articles. We also help to make sure the conference runs smoothly and there is a lot of the behind scenes work that people are unaware of,’ said Sonali. ‘We also make sure the tech is all in order.’
Zama, another chair of Press and Tech choose to be involved in Press and Tech because she loves taking an unbiased stand about issues. She also loves hearing different points of views about issues that she supports strongly.

‘I love forming my own ideas about certain issues. I feel that, for my personality, being a delegate for a certain country that does not stand for the beliefs and values that I personally do is too limiting for me,’ said Zama. ‘But I can enjoy all points of views as a member of Press and Tech.’
Both Zama and Sonali recommend Press and Tech to any delegate who wants a birds-eye view of JoMUN. Zama said that if you go into a room as a member of Press and Tech you will be able to look at how delegates talk about different issues and that is a good way for you to learn as a first timer.
‘I strongly recommend Press and Tech to those who have a strong understanding of JoMUN and generally love JoMUN but don’t feel like doing all of the research which leads up to the conference. It’s a great way to get to know JoMUN,’ said Sonali.
