Dear Pretoria Campus Parents,
Season 2 CCA’s ends today, Friday, February 1st. There will be a two week break in activities and then Season 3 will start on Tuesday, February 19th. Our swim team members will continue training on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during these two weeks and transport will be provided for these students. All Season 3 CCA’s will conclude on Friday, May 3rd.
Association for Music in International Schools
AISJ Johannesburg and Pretoria will be hosting an International Choir Festival with the organisation Association for Music in International Schools (AMISA) February 7-9. Seven of our students from AISJ Pretoria will be participating with students from ten international schools. You are warmly invited to attend the Gala concert at the Johannesburg Theatre Saturday, February 9, at 5:30 pm.

The AISJ Board of Directors seeks qualified candidates to run for election
The AISJ Board of Directors provides strategic and fiduciary oversight for the governance of AISJ. Serving on the Board is a rewarding opportunity to become involved in the long-term strategic planning and sustainability of the school. The Board comprises dynamic and engaged volunteers who work on various aspects of governance, financial planning, and long-term facilities planning. The Board is seeking committed AISJ parents or guardians to run for the Board of Directors.
Detailed information on the Board of Directors, requirements for candidacy, and application materials are available on the AISJ website. Applications must be received by 12:00 noon on February 15, 2019.

What is Mother Language Day?
UNESCO’s International Mother Language Day is a worldwide annual observance held on February 21st to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and promote multilingualism. Brenda R. Tevalan de Aikomus has agreed to organize food for Mother Language Day on February 21. If you would like to help or have ideas to share, please contact her at email@example.com .
The Pretoria Parent Association would like to thank those who came out for our Parents' Night Out! Mark your calendar for the next (and last) one of the year on April 17th.
This year is going by fast, and we are already thinking of what next year's PA team will look like. Many of our current officers are moving after this school year. Please consider taking a position. The school needs you! Positions available: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, events coordinator, service learning coordinator, eagle shop coordinator, welcome coordinator, elementary room parent coordinator, MS coordinator. Wondering what each position does? Please ask!

- Wednesday, February 13, Grade 8 parent meeting on high school course selection, Noon – 1 PM in the Library Annex
- Friday, February 15, student dismissal is at 1:30 PM
- Monday, February 18 is an in service day, there is no school for students
