What are the Stationary requirements?

Elementary School: School supplies are provided within the classroom; however, your child will need a hat, water bottle, school bag.

Middle School: You will be advised at orientation and during the first week of school with all the returning students.

High School: Most high school students at AISJ are taking math courses with the intention of eventually taking an external exam such as the IB or SAT.  To provide the best opportunity for our students to perform well on those exams (all of which allow the use of graphing calculators), the AISJ high school math department extensively uses graphing calculators as an integral part of our program.

Graphing calculators are required for ALL high school math classes.  We strongly encourage our math students to purchase a TI84 PLUS graphing calculator, (made by Texas Instruments). These are available from the secretary in the High School office at the cost of 1800 RAND.

We realize that this is a major financial commitment, but feel that it will greatly benefit your son or daughter in the long run.  There are so many calculators on the market that it is often difficult to know which will not become obsolete in only a short time.  The TI-83/84 Plus graphing calculator will be sufficient for the next several years.  If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact, Geoff Smith, The High School Principal.

No problem-  Your child’s first day of school will always be a Wednesday.  Please arrange your travel knowing that we will host a school orientation (and testing for Middle School/High School) on a Monday.

Tuesday will be a free day and then the school will start Wednesday. Your families places are held due to the holding deposit payment.  Places are held until October 15th.  After October 15th- you’ll need to pay the school fees in full or we will relinquish the place.
