Johannesburg High School
It is with great pleasure that I welcome our AISJ families to our 2024-2025 academic year. Our team looks forward to greeting our Grade 9 students (Class of 2028) to our High School, and we extend a special warm welcome to our Pretoria Eagles, who are coming to our Joburg campus. And it’s always exciting to meet our new families - we hope you feel the warmth and kindness of our AISJ family.
Our Assistant Principal, Dr. Patricio Saenz, will continue to lead our Grade Well-Being team as we continue to enhance our social and emotional learning program. As the High School Principal, I will continue to work alongside our Learning Leaders and our Teaching & Learning Team to support the ongoing development of the curriculum.
The year ahead will provide ample learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. We encourage all our students to strive for personal excellence in their studies (Academics) and to engage with our three other pillars - the Arts, Service, and Athletics. This August, we also launch a new pathway, the Lifeskills Pathway, and look forward to becoming a more inclusive school.
Our team of teachers and counselors supports every Eagle to grow and learn. We hope to inspire learning and build our better world as we learn alongside your teenagers. And as we do this, we plan to laugh and have fun together!
Most importantly, we want each young adult to come to AISJ as their authentic self and feel like they belong to our community.
We are better when we act together, and we look forward to our ongoing partnership with our families to cultivate a sense of belonging for and among our teenagers.
